Hi
Updates on my Windows 7 don't work. I get the error 0x80070057. I tried to fix it this way: http://appuals.com/best-fix-steps-fix-error-0x80070057/
None of the 4 steps worked out.
Here you can find my windows update log: http://wikisend.com/download/110142/WindowsUpdate.log

Thanks for helping me out!

Paul

Please click Start, type cmd, right click cmd and choose run as administrator.
Then type sfc /scannow once done, go here and run SFCFIx, after SFCFix finishes, it will open a log file notepad, kindly send that to me here via wikisend.

Now run the update and let me know the results.

When I try to run updates, again I get the message that I should restart my computer to install important updates. It's a vicious circle...

Download and run this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858 after it has finished, upload file CBS.log from %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log and %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\Checksur.log

At first, I could download the program and run it, but it kept initialising for about an hour without any progress.
I tried again, and now I get an error: 0x80240009.
By the way: my ultimate aim is to install Windows 10, but I neither can do that because of tis Windows 7 update problem.

Please upload the request log files.

I think you misunderstood: I cannot run https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858 because I get an error, so I cannot upload these files.

Apologies for not being clearer. The cbs.log file is created when sfc scan runs, so it should be there which is what i need to see.

No problem, I'm a bit of a bungler when it comes to computers.
I hope this is what you asked for:
